TOUR OF THE SLN FACULTY CENTER
FRIDAY, OCTOBER 1
Did you ever wonder what all those buttons and links do that are on the screen when you select your SLN course to view it from the web? Come to this Brown Bag Lunch Session and see. ASSISTIVE TECHNOLOGY
WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 6
NOTE: This session takes place in ROOM 3-105
Students with disabilities can benefit from a number of advancements in assistive technology. MCC is fortunate to have software and hardware available through the generosity of Dr. Lewis Lansky. This Brown Bag Lunch Session will enable you to see what is available in the Office of Services for Students with Disabilities in Building 3, Room 105. This informal session will allow faculty and staff to watch demonstrations and try out equipment such as a CCTV to enlarge print, two types of screen readers, and voice activated equipment. Please join us! Facilitated by Mark Preston and Arlene Phillips.

REQUESTING INTERLIBRARY LOAN MATERIAL FROM YOUR DESKTOP
FRIDAY, OCTOBER 8
NOTE: This session takes place in the Library, ROOM 2-423
As you are probably aware, if the Library does not own a particular title, you can fill out a form and request the title through Interlibrary Loan. But did you know that you don’t need to come to the Library to make the request? Come learn how to request materials through Interlibrary Loan from your own office or home. You will learn the procedure for submitting the request electronically, saving yourself valuable time and a walk to the Library! Facilitated by Bess Watts and Alice Harrington, ETS Libraries.

COURSESPACE ORIENTATION
WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 13
Are you interested in teaching a Hybrid course but lack experience teaching in an online environment? Well, wait no more! Attend this CourseSpace Brown Bag session and see the technologies available to you for teaching web-enhanced and hybrid courses. This session is your starting point for enhancing your face-to-face courses and providing flexible learning environments for your students. Facilitated by Mary Hallett and Randy Rezabek, ETS Instructional Technologies.

SLN SUPPORT SERVICES REVIEW
MONDAY, OCTOBER 18
Who ya gonna call ??? Never know who you can call for help with your SLN courses and WHEN?  Attend this review of the support services that are available for SLN instructors here at MCC and from SLN directly (or indirectly). Facilitated by Martha Kendall and Randy Rezabek, ETS Instructional Technologies.

EDIT VIDEOS WITH WINDOWS MOVIE MAKER
WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 27
NOTE: This session takes place in the Faculty Innovation Center, ROOM 3-153a (inside Room 3-150, Instructional Technologies).
Have you thought there must be an easy, inexpensive way to edit videos? Well there is, and you may not even know that you already have it! Windows Movie Maker is a program that makes it easy to edit your own videos, and – the best part – it comes free with Windows XP. Jeremy Case of Instructional Technologies will tell you what Movie Maker can (and can’t!) do and what you’ll need to get started.
