RG&E Planned Power Outage Thursday Night - PLEASE READ

RG&E has notified the college that they need to turn the power off to about 2,000 of their customers on Thursday, April 24 at midnight. MCC's Brighton Campus is one of their customers that will be affected.  The work is necessary to repair the damage resulting from the power outage last Sunday night, April 20. RG&E will be conducting repairs to the substation and require the power to be off from midnight Thursday to about 5 am on Friday morning, April 25. The damage to their equipment is severe enough that RG&E cannot wait for a more convenient time for the college.

During the power outage, MCC's emergency generators will operate and provide emergency lights and services for the areas on the main campus that are connected to the generators. Note: The residence halls are not  on an emergency system, but a plan is in place to maintain student safety.

To insure the best possible outcome, we strongly recommend turning off electrical devices before you leave on Thursday.
