DETAILS: Debra Dean's best-selling debut novel, "The Madonnas of Leningrad" was a New York Times Editors' Choice and an American Library Association Notable Book of the Year. Dean's book has been described as "an eloquent tribute to the beauty and resilience of memory, especially as contrasted to the incomparable devastation that comes with its loss to Alzheimer's."

This event, part of MCC's 2011-2012 Visiting Scholar Series, is sponsored with MCC's English Department, Anthropology, History, Political Science and Sociology Department., Writing Center, and Writers & Books.
