Students Present Research at Northeast Regional Honors Council Conference


Ten student members of the Honors Institute recently attended the Northeast Regional Honors Conference on April 12-15th in Baltimore, MD. The conference brought together honors program students from over 50 colleges and universities in the northeast. Five MCC students had papers accepted for presentation at the conference:
  • “Stereotypes Survive” by Ashley Wallace
  • “‘Wild Women Don’t Get the Blues’: Angela Carter’s Feminist Reinterpretation of Little Red Riding Hood in The Company of Wolves” by Anna Price
  • “Second-Hand Reproductions of the Real-The Future Manifesto” by Roberta Robison
  • “The Occupy Movement through the Lens of Modern Physics” by Christian Nelson
  • “A Neurobiological Analysis of Musical Idiosyncrasies in Cultures and their Evolutionary Role: A Multi-Disciplinary Perspective” by Mikel Ruterbusch

Additionally, five members of the Honors Council student club (Lexi Donahue, Greg Folino, Taylor Johnson, Abdullah Ijaz and Jessica Ramirez) attended and participated in best-practices sessions designed to enhance honors activities on campus.
