Project LIVE: Learning in a Virtual Environment
An Exploration of Second Life
Sponsored by the Faculty Access to Computing Technology (FACT) Conferences on Computing in the Disciplines (COCID) program
Date: May 4th, 2007
Location: Brighton Campus, Monroe Community College
This event will be the beginning of a six-month exploration of Second Life (<<https://www.secondlife.com>>) and how it can be used for instructional delivery, professional development, and social networking. The day will include presentations by national experts on this topic and hands-on sessions to help you get started with your own avatar in Second Life. Participants will then be given access to the Monroe Community College Island in Second Life to use as a home base as they explore the environment. A second one-day conference to be held in November will give participants an opportunity to share and learn from their Second Life experiences.
This event is supported by SUNY FACT, MCC, FLCC and the Finger Lakes Distance Learning Partnership.
More details about the day will soon follow but if you are interested, register now because space is limited. This event is free.
