Annual High School Counselor Workshop

On March 27 and April 3, 2012, the Admissions Office hosted over 100 high school counselors and community partners for our annual High School Counselor Workshops.  This year’s theme was entitled “Emerging Careers in Technology.”  Our goal was to highlight careers where there is a lack of skilled workers.  It also promoted the importance of middle skills, updated counselors on what is new at MCC, and provided them with the information they need to better help their students with the enrollment process.

A special thank you goes to Todd Oldham, vice president of Economic Development and Innovative Workforce Services, who presented the main session.  We would like to acknowledge the following who worked hard to showcase the MCC technology related programs and interactive tour of Building 9: Frank Ambrosio, Christian Boettrich, Bob Cunningham, George Fazekas, Matt Fetzner, Kevin Foley, Bert Gamory, Bob Lasch, Bob Mills, Barry Walker and Bill Yanklowski.

Finally, special recognition to Provost McDonough for providing the welcome, Krista Tyner for coordinating the department tours, and Christine Casalinuovo-Adams for coordinating the workshops.
