Conference Center Named for Warshof Family


At its Dec. 8 meeting, the MCC Board of Trustees unanimously agreed to name the conference center facilities in the Campus Center the Warshof Conference Center. The naming is in honor of Richard S. Warshof, an MCC alumnus and longtime supporter of the College.

The Warshof Conference Center includes Monroe A, Monroe B, the Empire Room and the second floor foyer. Please join us in honoring Mr. Warshof.

The resolution passed by the board is reprinted below:

WHEREAS Richard S. Warshof’s association with Monroe Community College has spanned four decades, beginning in 1966 as a student and continuing today as a director of the Monroe Community College Foundation, and

WHEREAS Richard S. Warshof has taken a leadership role in the Monroe Community College Foundation, serving on the cabinets of the Foundation’s two capital campaigns, facilitating the funding of the College’s first endowed chair by his then-employer Rochester Community Savings Bank, serving as executive vice chair of the Foundation’s board of directors, and demonstrating his commitment through his own significant financial support, and

WHEREAS, Richard S. Warshof has been an alumni leader, chairing the Alumni Hall of Fame Committee and being inducted himself in 1995, now

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the second floor conference facilities in Monroe Community College’s new Campus Center be hereafter known as the Warshof Conference Center, in celebration of the long and valued relationship between Richard S. Warshof and Monroe Community College.
