In Honor of MCC's 50th Birthday!

A lot can happen in five decades. From the notorious streaking incident (it was the 70's) to the professor who rode his motorcycle through the halls, MCC is overflowing with memorable moments. Watch the "Daily Tribune" on Mondays and Fridays during the 2012 spring semester as we share 50 fun-filled facts from then and now. As you'll see, it's been an eventful half century!

1. Before Marion Folsom served as a founding member of MCC's board of trustees, he served in President Truman’s administration as the U.S. Secretary of Health, Education and Welfare.

2. The original sign from our Alexander Street campus “disappeared” in 1963 and was returned to MCC in the mid 1980’s.

3. In September 1962 the average cost of textbooks for a semester was a whopping $45. A bottle of Coke cost a dime. If you wanted a can of Coke? Sorry, Coke only came in glass bottles back then.

Many thanks to MCC's LVG Library Archives for their assistance in this project.
