I am pleased to inform you that Dr. John Clark, Interim Chancellor of SUNY has just announced the creation of a new Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Classified Service. This is the first time classified employees are being recognized in a manner similar to faculty and professional employees.
Nominees for the award must be full-time employees who have been with the college a minimum of five years. Each nomination packet must contain a nomination letter (no more than 500 words) and at least two supporting letters along with the completed nomination form (see attachment 1). Nomination letters should address how the nominee excels in their present position, how nominee demonstrates flexibility/creativity on campus, and how nominee demonstrates exemplary customer service. Nominations may be submitted by a supervisor, coworker or other member of the campus community. Additional details for preparing a packet are included in the Tips & Suggestions sheet (attachment 2).
The deadline to submit applications is Tuesday, January 20, by 4:00 p.m. to Valarie Avalone in room 1-304 (ext. 3021).
