Iranian Youth: At the Forefront of Political and Social Change

Mark your calendars for this informative and provocative talk on the youth of Iran, their political perceptions and social stances, especially in relationship to US foreign policy.  Professor Lous Andolino will give a "Brief History of US Foreign Policies towards Iran". Professor Shahin Monshipour will offer "Perspectives on Freedom and Democracy in Iran and the Role of Youth." A slide and video presentation will accompany Professor Monshipour's talk that examines the youth in Iran today, from the perspectives of individual rights as well as Islamic fundamentalism. Professor Monshipour will also address how these forces interact with the US role in this changing climate.

Lou Andolino is Professor Emeritus of Political Science at RIT and Adjunct Professor of History and Political Science at MCC.  Shahin Monshipour is an Instructor of Sociology at MCC.  The event will take place Wednesday, April 27, at 7:00 p.m. in Building 8-200.  Kevin Eirich, Instructor of Political Science, will moderate the event.

A question and answer session will follow with the participation of Professors Andolino and Monshipour, and Syracuse University Journalism graduate student Nawal Qaurooni.

The event is coordinated by GIG, the MCC Global Interest Group, as its key presentation during MCC's International Week activities, April 25-29.
