MCC Captures 4th Straight ASEE Title

Our highly talented Engineering Design Team finished first at the American Society for Engineering Education (ASEE) Design Competition held in Austin, Texas on Monday, June 11th.  This is the fourth straight year that MCC has captured the national championship.  The top scorers for MCC were Maggie Bates of Webster, Lucas Bushen from Greece, and Christopher Crippen of Lima.

MCC led the competition from start to finish and was the only school in the 18 team field to complete four perfect robot trials.  MCC set the track record of 28 seconds and scored first in the Exhibition session.  The contest required students to design and build two robots that could complete a four lap relay race around a multi-colored slalom course.  A complete summary of MCC’s journey to the pinnacle of engineering design can be viewed at the team’s competition blog at asee2012.posterous.com .
