Brighton Campus Window Replacement

Starting today, April 29, and running through August 17, 2009, Phase II of the Brighton Campus window replacement will be taking place.

The courtyard facing windows of Building 6, 2nd, 3rd and 4th Floors, Building 1, 2nd Floor south windows, Building 7, 2nd and 3rd Floors, Building 5, 5th, 4th, 3rd and 2nd Floors and Building 9, 2nd Floor will be replaced in that order.

This project was approved to provide us with new solar-glazed double paned insulated window units that will save the school energy, improve occupant comfort, stop the water leaks and reduce outside noise.

Non-friable asbestos encapsulated in the window caulk holding the old windows in place will be removed under New York State Department of Labor and OSHA guidelines.  Hard-walled barriers will be placed in front of the windows in each work zone and the removal and replacement work will be done from the outside.  You will notice construction dumpsters and lifts in the courtyards over the course of the summer and we will strive to keep disruption to a minimum.

We are currently working with affected staff and faculty to plan their interruptions.  In the very near future, we will be supplying boxes to facilitate moves away from office windows for the affected people.
