Pierce Accepted to 2005 CCCC Panel in San Francisco

Congratulations go to Elizabeth Pierce of English/Philosophy for acceptance of her presentation on "Diversity in the Curriculum" by the Conference on College Composition and Communication (CCCC).  Professor Pierce's proposal focuses on her success with integrating literature, professional communication, and technology with the collaborative efforts of:

        *Writers and Books
        *Campus Activities Board
*Faculty and staff on Brighton and Damon City campuses, who signed up to be "Book Buddies" with her students.  The Book Buddy idea was Julie Damerell's (Transitional Studies-DCC) from MCC's 2003 collaboration with the "If All of Rochester Read the Same Book" program.
*MCC's Introduction to Literature students.  Pierce paired one class with faculty/staff Book Buddies and paired a second class with Professor Kathy O'Shea's Introduction to Literature class for student-to-student discussions about this year's "If All of Rochester Read the Same Book" selection, Peace Like a River.
