Pathways to College and Strong Foundations

Academic Foundations is excited to introduce 2 exciting new grant-funded programs: Pathways to College and Strong Foundations!

Pathways to College offers non-grads the ability to earn 24 college credits toward the NYS HSE diploma and an MCC certificate. Successful students may take those credentials to get great jobs, or opt to continue their education, but with the ability to receive greater federal financial aid.

Strong Foundations is a full semester, non-credit program in developmental math and English.  Strong Foundations ESOL is a full semester non-credit program in ESL with an optional developmental math component.  These programs help students who place into the lowest level math, English, and ESL classes build their skills to better prepare them for college level math and English.

MCC offers an array of supports for Pathways to College and Strong Foundations students to help them succeed, including a student advocate who coordinates services.

Strong Foundations TRS and ESOL and Pathways to College kicked off this semester.  Both programs will scale up in fall 2021, with 100 new Pathways to College students, 3 cohorts of Strong Foundations and 2 cohorts of Strong Foundations ESOL.

If you would like to learn more, or if you know any eligible students, please contact Jessica Saltzberg, Student Advocate at jsaltzberg002@monroecc.edu.
