Diversity Council News

The Diversity Council is a representative group of college faculty, staff and administrators appointed by the President, who advise and support the college administration in its efforts to embrace and celebrate diversity and to create an environment of inclusion.

I am pleased to announce the Council’s co-chairs for 2011-12:  Emeterio M. Otero, Executive Dean, Damon City Campus and Community Relations, and Craig Rand, Professor, Health and Physical Education.  Pete and Craig will lead the Diversity Council and engage the college community to incorporate the college’s vision.

Since January, 2007, Char Downing has served as co-chair.  In light of her new responsibilities as Dean of Curriculum and Program Development, she has agreed to remain on the Council but relinquish the co-chair position.  The significant accomplishments of the Council over the last 5 years are a reflection of Char’s leadership.

I welcome your involvement and support in celebrating diversity and creating an inclusive workplace.
