ETS Announces New Interactive Videoconferencing System

ETS has recently acquired and installed two Polycom IP Videoconferencing Systems. One unit is housed at DCC and the other at the Brighton Campus. These units allow both campuses to be connected with interactive 2-way video and 2-way audio for department meetings, training, or any events needing interactivity between DCC and Brighton. These systems use the campus network and can be used in any room that has an active data port.

As conferencing technology has evolved, several forms have emerged. Audio conferencing connects 2 or more locations interactively via audio technology such as a speakerphone. Teleconferencing is from one origination site to many receiving sites, such as viewing a satellite transmission. Videoconferencing (quickly becoming the most popular method) is interactive video, audio, and even document sharing connecting 2 locations or multiple locations.

To arrange for a videoconference, call Jean Cray at x2175. If you are unsure which form of conferencing is most appropriate for your need, please call either Steve Weider at x2571 or Paul Tracy at x3439.
