MCC Labyrinth Grand Opening

End your week with wellness by attending the opening of MCC’s new labyrinth on Friday, Oct. 26, 3-5 pm, in the Brighton Campus Dance Studio (10-143). Labyrinths are considered among the oldest, contemplative and transformational wellness tools known to humankind. The event is hosted by the Health and Physical Education Department.

The formal program will start at approximately 3:15 pm with a blessing by Barbara Litterio, and an overview of walking labyrinths by Craig Rand. (Rand is currently working on a doctoral dissertation on the physiological changes people experience while walking a labyrinth.) The design of MCC’s labyrinth is based on the original, medieval labyrinth located at the Chartres Cathedral in France.

Following the program, MCC faculty and staff will be able to walk the labyrinth and experience how it enhances personal wellness. (Shoes will need to be removed in order to walk on the labyrinth; please wear comfortable socks.)
