How do Students Check Financial Aid Status?

Once students have completed their financial aid application, the application process takes a bit of time and goes through two different phases.

The initial processing phase is conducted by the federal government for the FAFSA and New York state for the TAP application.

To check the status of or make corrections to a FAFSA students need to go to
https://www.fafsa.ed.gov/. Students will need their federal PIN to access their FAFSA. Students who have forgotten or misplaced their federal PIN can request a new one at https://www.pin.ed.gov/..

To check the status of a TAP application or make corrections, students need to go to
https://www.hesc.com/content.nsf/. Students need their TAP or HESC PIN to access a TAP application.

The second processing phase is conducted by the MCC Financial Aid Office, once we have received the data from a FAFSA. At this point we will request any required additional information that is need to complete a financial aid application.

To check the status of an application at MCC and accept any financial aid awards that have been offered, students can log into the
MCC Banner Student Self-Service System. Students will need their MCC Student ID number and MCC PIN to access the information.
