The Sixth Act Presents "If All of MCC Read the Same Play" THIS FRIDAY

MCC’s award-winning drama initiative The Sixth Act will host its first “If All of MCC Read the Same Play” event on Friday, December 4, at 12 p.m., in the MCC Theatre. This event is free and open to the public, and metered parking will be available.

“If All of MCC Read the Same Play” will feature the full-scale production of Taylor MacBowyer’s short play The Levee, about an older couple’s inability to conceive a child, followed by discussion with audience members. We’re hoping to interrogate the play’s engagement with questions of gender identity, class identity, definitions of family, definitions of health and wellness, as well as the artistic concerns involved in telling a story on the stage.

We hope to see you (and your students) there!

Formed in 2004, The Sixth Act aims to broaden and deepen an interdisciplinary appreciation of drama at MCC and to connect MCC faculty, staff, and students with events in Rochester’s theatre community. It seeks as its leaders faculty, staff, and students drawn from a variety of academic disciplines and departments.

The Sixth Act is supported by MCC’s Creative Arts Committee and Liberal Arts Program.
