Volunteers Needed for MCC Career Connection Program

Make a difference for a student by participating in the MCC Career Connection!  This program provides students with opportunities to meet with professionals, through informational interviews and/or job shadowing experiences in career areas that are of interest to them.  To provide students with diverse opportunities, we are in the process of identifying professionals who are willing to share their knowledge and expertise.  We are reaching out to you for two reasons:  First, to ask if you would be willing to be a resource for students, and second, if you could recommend professionals in the community who might be interested in participating.

An informational interview is a brief conversation (telephone, email, or face to face) between a student and a working professional that provides the student with an opportunity to ask questions about the professional’s occupation and career field.  Job shadowing allows a student to observe a working professional at their job site for a brief period of time.

Both Informational interviewing and job shadowing can help a student clarify career goals and build networking skills. Being a resource for students brings the satisfaction of helping them reach their career and educational goals.

If you are interested or know someone who might be, please complete the online form found on this link "
