iStream Update – March 2011


The League for Innovation in the Community College’s iStream focus this month is on student engagement and success.

- Project Highlight:  The Humber Engagement and Learning Profile creates a new way of getting help for first-semester, at-risk students before it’s too late.

- Partner Spotlight:  The Community College Research Center offers insights into “Redesigning Community Colleges for Completion:  Lessons from Research on High-Performance Organizations.”

- Conference Presentations:  Wrapping up the League’s first STEMtech Conference, Michael C. Lach examines STEM in the context of IT, community colleges, and questions to educators.

- Publications:  “Student Services Dialogues:  Community College Case Studies to Consider” offers real-world strategies for providing adequate, effective learner support.

- Innovative Educators Webinar:  Improve the chances of student success by “Supporting the Engagement, Learning, and Success of Students at Risk.”
