Accepting Applications: President's Emerging Leaders Fellows and Leadership Education and Development Programs

Applications are being accepted for the President's Emerging Leaders Fellowship and Leadership Education and Development programs. Both leadership programs will run from January 2 through December 18, 2020 and support the College's strategic commitment to talent management practices that include developing, recognizing, and empowering our employees. Participants in the program will reflect the diversity of our College and represent each of MCC's five divisions: Academic Services, Administrative Services, Economic and Workforce Development and Career Technical Education, President's Office and Student Services.

NOTE: Applications require support from the division lead (president, provost, or vice president), and due to the scope of the work in which participants engage, participants are required to sign a confidentiality statement.

President's Emerging Leaders Fellowship (PEL)
This program is open to MCC full-time employees at the level of department chair or director and above. Each cohort will include up to five (5) participants who represent MCC's diversity and breadth. The PEL Fellowship is designed to enhance the capacity of our internal leaders to address the increasing complexity and challenges facing higher education leaders, maintain a student-centered approach to their work, design innovative and inclusive solutions, and see opportunities on the horizon. The application deadline for the third PEL cohort is October 14, 2019.

Leadership Education and Development (LEAD)
This program is open to MCC full-time faculty; professional staff at specialist level and above; and civil service staff at analyst/programmer/supervisor level and above. Each cohort will include up to twelve (12) participants who represent MCC's diversity and breadth. The LEAD program offers participants leadership education that is both practical and forward looking, with a grounding in critical issues facing higher education and a deeper understanding of and appreciation for the interrelationship of college offices and stakeholders. The application deadline for the second LEAD cohort is October 21, 2019.

Visit the Leadership Development's webpage to review the application process, guidelines, and evaluation criteria online. I hope you will consider applying. For questions regarding PEL, contact Dr. Joel Frater at jfrater@monroecc.edu and for questions regarding LEAD contact Dr. Sheila Strong at sstrong@monrocc.edu.

I look forward to welcoming the next cohort of President's Emerging Leaders Fellows and Leadership Education and Development participants.
