MCC students more motivated to finish college thanks to Accelerated Learning Program

WROC's Kayla Green interviewed faculty and students regarding how MCC's Accelerated Learning Program (ALP) is making it easier for students to graduate on time. The segment, MCC students more motivated to finish college thanks to Accelerated Learning Program, aired yesterday, December 19.

Our thanks to students Shanae Bell and Eric Jones for participating in interviews as well as (Angelique Johnston (English/Philosophy) and Matt Fox (ESOL/Transitional Studies) for their leadership and support of this program and our students.

Earlier this month, Democrat and Chronicle reporter Justin Murphy also explored how, nationwide, college educators are seeking new ways to support students who need developmental education to succeed academically. The article, Most college students in remedial classes don't graduate, co-requisites could be solution, was published on December 4. Our thanks to Renee Dimino (ESOL/Transitional Studies), Terry Shamblin (ESOL/Transitional Studies), Medea Rambish (Academic Foundations), and Provost Andrea Wade (Academic Services) for participating in interviews and connecting media to students. Thanks also to Institutional Research staff for their support.
