MCC Summer Session Marketing Campaign Underway

MCC has launched a marketing campaign promoting our summer sessions that targets current college students in New York State.  Marketing and Community Relations, in partnership with Virtual Campus, is running a campaign in both college publications and with online advertising.

The campaign promotes the value, quality and convenience of summer sessions at MCC – our low cost per credit hour for SUNY credits, with online and on campus choices.

Print ads began to appear in March in college newspapers and will run through May.  Print ads are appearing in the newspapers at RIT, St. John Fisher College, Brockport, Geneseo, University of Buffalo, and Binghamton.  (Not all colleges permit advertising so some campuses were not available).  If offered by the college, MCC is also running ads in the online versions of the publications.

A digital advertising campaign targeting college students kicked off this week and runs through July.  The campaign will run in the Rochester region, but also in the markets of SUNY universities including Albany, Binghamton, Buffalo, and Stony Brook.  These out-of-market ads target large concentrations of SUNY students.

The digital campaign includes:

*        Display advertising on mobile devices – our research shows that nearly all prospects who inquire online about MCC summer classes use mobile devices

*        Paid Search – this tactic uses the search words prospects enter in Google.  Based on their search, they will receive MCC summer session ads in their results

*        Retargeting – prospects who visit the summer page (www.monroecc.edu/enroll/summer <https://www.monroecc.edu/enroll/summer> ) will be followed with digital ads encouraging them to come back and register for a class.

*        Current MCC students will receive email blasts encouraging them to attend a summer session.

Thanks go to Computing and Information Technology Services for helping the campaign be tracked and measured.

As always, word-of-mouth advertising is our best tactic. Encourage your friends and neighbors to take a summer class at MCC.
