Today is the Last Day to Withdraw a Student for the Fall Semester!

Today, November 21, is the withdrawal deadline for the fall semester. If you are home running water on your frozen turkey and it suddenly occurs to do you that you didn’t finish doing your withdrawals, you can still do them from the comfort of your home. Without having bubble forms that need to be turned in, waiting until the last minute is less of a hassle than it used to be. Let that turkey thaw while you fire up your class lists and input those last minute “W’s”.

There is sometimes miscommunication between faculty and students regarding who is doing the withdrawing. Since today is the deadline, if you had a student who told you he was going to withdraw and yet today his name appears on your list without a “W” grade, he probably did not follow through. IF you want to assure that he is withdrawn, please do the withdrawal today. If you are willing to let him face the consequences of not withdrawing by the deadline, i.e. probably receiving an “F”, that is fine too. But that decision has to be made today and not negotiated when you do your final grades.

Remember: The day after Thanksgiving is too late to have that turkey thawed AND too late to withdraw a student from your fall semester class.

Happy Thanksgiving!
