MCC CSTEP Students Attend University at Buffalo Shadow Day

Five MCC students in the Collegiate Science and Technology Entry Program (CSTEP) braved the sub-zero temperatures on Monday, February 16 to attend a Shadow Day for STEM students at the University at Buffalo.  Hosted by the UB CSTEP, the MCC students were able to attend upper-level chemistry, computer science, and mathematics classes.   After lunch in the UB Student Union, the students met with admissions representatives and toured the North Campus dormitories and libraries.  Two of the five students have applied for fall admission to the University at Buffalo and were able to resolve specific questions about their status.

The Collegiate Science and Technology Entry Program (CSTEP) at MCC provides academic enrichment and research experience in order to increase the number of students from underrepresented groups who are pursuing professional licensure and careers in STEM and health-related fields.
