Children Plant Flower Bulbs, Hope for the Future

Children and MCC community members gathered at the MCC Child Care Center on
Wednesday, Sept. 18 to plant daffodil bulbs in the Holocaust Genocide Studies
Project's Garden of Remembrance. The annual event, now in its 12th year,
encourages the community to remember the 1 million children who were murdered
during the Holocaust and to accept the responsibility for creating peace for
the future.

A generous gift from Josephine Braitman, wife of College benefactor Simon
Braitman who is a Holocaust survivor, will fund the planting of hundreds of
bulbs on MCC's Brighton Campus.

"These bulbs and the children who plant them symbolize the power of hope," said
Charles Clarke, professor of psychology and advisor for the Holocaust Genocide
Studies Project.

The daffodils will bloom next spring. Please see the attached photos.
