ITC Audioconference - "Second Life - More Fun Than the First"

MCC will host the Instructional Technology Council's professional development audioconference entitled, "Second Life – More Fun Than the First," on Tuesday, September 18 from 2:00-3:00 pm in room 3-116. The presenter is: Erin Ebert, eLearning Analyst, Savannah College of Art and Design.

Second Life is an MMOW (Massive Multi-player Online World) that is quickly becoming the new way for students to interact virtually. Students can sign up for a free account and create their own alternate persona, choosing a new name and avatar - an electronic image that represents the user - thus creating a second life. This session will demo ways in which you can easily and inexpensively use this exciting technology to create classroom activities or build your online community. SCAD e-Learning uses Second Life as a virtual clubhouse for e-Learning club meetings, where students will participate in planned activities, showcase their art, and socialize.
