Guest Essay on Academia's Approaches to Bridging the Divide Cites MCC as Example

A guest essay recently posted by Inside Higher Ed sheds light on what some U.S. community colleges, including MCC, are doing to bridge the gap between noncredit and credit programs. The essay's author is Matthew Gandal, president and CEO of Education Strategy Group who served as senior adviser to then-U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan.

" ‘Stackable Credentials’ Aren’t Enough" notes the work of MCC's Economic and Workforce Development Center in enhancing the delivery and function of noncredit training toward ensuring the student experience across noncredit and credit programs is equitable.

If you would like to learn more about the Economic and Workforce Development Center's efforts, a case study is included in the Education Strategy Group's 2020 report, A More Unified Community College: Strategies and Resources to Align Non-Credit and Credit Programs.
