"GR" designated courses are unique in that these provide students with opportunities to synthesize a basic understanding of sustainability-related topics with their knowledge and skills in a given discipline. In some green course sections, students learn the interrelationship between course content and the field of sustainability, whereas in other course sections, they see how a discipline supports the field of sustainability in different ways. These are intended to prepare learners to address social, economic, and environmental issues as those pertain to sustainability in their communities.
Check out what courses offer green sections by visiting https://www.monroecc.edu/depts/sustainability/academics.htm. Faculty members of the Sustainability Steering Committee have been working to support the development of additional green sections among courses that do not typically address sustainability. These efforts are made in accordance with the College’s Strategic Plan through the Sustainability Operational Plan.
