Thanks to AAWCC-MCC Chapter members, this summer’s cohort of Healthy Heroes campers have lending libraries in six classrooms and a variety of books to read. The members collected books especially for the camp during their annual book drive this spring.
The five-week camp is keeping 455 Rochester children (ages 6 to 13) active and learning over the summer. It is designed to reduce summer health and learning declines that sometimes occur when the children are out of school. Campers are borrowing nearly 100 books a day to read at home.
On behalf of the campers, thank you AAWCC-MCC Chapter for your generosity and for inspiring Rochester’s children to read this summer.
