Participate in a Public Forum on Health Care

MCC faculty, staff, and students can participate in a forum convened by The Democracy Commitment at Monroe Community College and Rochester Democrat and Chronicle on ensuring access to health care while controlling costs.

The forum is one of the Democracy Commitment's efforts to provide a platform to discover common ground through dialogue and deliberation about our most pressing issues in collaboration Initiative with Public Agenda, Kettering Foundation, and the USA Today Network in The Hidden Common Ground. For more information visit: https://www.usatoday.com/hiddencommonground/

This forum is an opportunity to deliberate together about how we can best ensure access to affordable and quality health care in the United States. We will use an issue guide providing three options that have presents tradeoffs we need to consider. While this is a difficult discussion, it is one we must have together.

The options we will consider for improving health care in the United States include a single public health insurance program, adjusting the current mix of public and private insurance plans, and increasing individual choice of health care coverage. You can read about each option in the free downloadable document at the NIFI website: https://www.nifi.org/en/issue-guide/health-care-2020

We will explore each option in more detail during the forum. Register for the forum at:
