MCC Shuttle Service: Trial Run on Wednesday, April 28th

On Wednesday, MCC wil conduct a test run of the new MCC Shuttle Service with Golden Memories. The trial run will begin at both campuses at 7:30 a.m. and last pickup will be at 2:30 p.m.  We have asked student volunteers to “pretend” to be going to specific classrooms on both campuses at normally scheduled times and to keep a log of how long it takes them for the commute.  This will help us to determine if our schedules are realistic and enable us to work out some of the kinks prior to September.

To make this a little more realistic, we are offering a “test” ride for faculty and staff as well.  If you perchance have a meeting scheduled at either the Brighton or Damon City campuses on Wednesday and have a little flexibility as to your meeting schedule, please feel free to ride the shuttle and let us know what you think.  There are a couple of things to bear in mind, however.  First, the buses we are using tomorrow will not be the actual buses we have on order for September.  The new buses are being built to our specifications; we are not sure what kind of buses we will have for tomorrow.  Additionally, you will not need to use your MCC ID as we will not have card readers in place and will not be testing this system at this time.  Third, please make sure you have some flexibility built into your schedule if you do use this service for a meeting on Wednesday.  The buses should stay on schedule, but they are also testing the routes which may be slightly delayed due to construction and other unforeseen problems, so just keep this is mind.

The buses will be leaving on the half hour at each campus beginning at 7:30 a.m.  The last bus will pick up at 2:30 p.m. and conclude the service at 3:00 p.m. after delivering passengers.   Pick-ups on the Brighton Campus will be outside the Gilman Lounge at Sports and Center Roads and at the Franklin Street Entrance of the Sibley Building for Damon.

This said, you are more than welcome to try a ride on the Shuttle.  If you do, I would be interested in hearing your comments and feedback at <mailto:aagness@monroecc.edu>.  Please contact Annette Agness or Tricia Storms (<mailto:pstorms@monroecc.edu>) in the Campus Center if you have any questions or concerns.
