State Funding for New Downtown Campus

Late Friday afternoon, we learned that Governor Cuomo included in his 30-day budget amendment legislation to rename the state appropriation that was previously allocated for Renaissance Square. As you may recall, this re-naming was needed in order to allow the College to access the funds.

This is great news for our new downtown campus, and was made possible thanks to strong advocates at SUNY and MCC and within the community. The Governor’s press release includes the very supportive voices of SUNY Chancellor Nancy Zimpher, Monroe County Executive Maggie Brooks, Mayor Lovely Warren and Senator Joe Robach; I thank them for their tireless support.
