Upward Bound begins it's 2012 Summer Program

On June 25, Upward Bound welcomed students new and old to commence its 2012 Summer Program. The program is welcoming 30 students coming into grades 9-12. The students attended orientation from June 25-July 3 and classes began July 5.

Students are taking classes this summer to help them prepare for course work they'll tackle this coming fall. Summer classes include Writing, Math, Science, and Reading that vary in rigor from beginning to ACT and SAT prep.
The students will also be placed in specialty classes such as Study Skills, College Prep, Leadership, and Career Preparedness. In addition, seniors will lead a variety of clubs during the afternoons.

Through this summer’s theme of “Character,” students will learn about the different attributes that contribute to strengthening character. Upward Bound is excited to help develop our students academically. We look forward to a safe and invigorating summer program.
