Specifications Grading Work Session

January 9, 10-noon in the TCC (12-201)

Celia Reaves (PSY) spent this fall experimenting with specifications grading following last June’s Linda Nilson presentation.  Join her and other faculty interested in implementing “specs” grading in the Spring.  Bring your laptop, CLO’s, assignments, and current CIS.  We will gather informally to work on our own specifications, troubleshoot, ask questions and make progress.

What is “specifications grading”?
Specifications grading is a system for evaluating student work that doesn't involve scoring individual assignments and then averaging or adding the scores together. Instead, every assignment is evaluated as either satisfactory or unsatisfactory, then grades are based on the total number of satisfactory assignments.
