STAR Power Donors Raise $112,500 for Single Parent Students

MCC Foundation Board of Director Lori Van Dusen hosted a reception at home on Wednesday, October 4 to raise money for the STAR Power Scholarship Fund. STAR Power is the MCC Foundation's women's giving initiative. Inspired by a generous challenge, the women of the MCC Board of Directors launched STAR Power in 2013 to raise money in support of single parents pursuing their education at MCC. At Wednesday's event, Lori Van Dusen, joined by MCC Foundation Board of Directors Flor Colón and Lauren Dixon, announced another challenge opportunity. Any new or increased gifts to STAR Power would be matched up to $50,000. Lori, Flor and Lauren's generous gift inspired a total of $112,500 for single parent students at MCC!
