Alpha Theta Iota Wins International Awards

Alpha Theta Iota, Monroe Community College’s chapter of the Phi Theta Kappa International Honors Society, won four awards at the honor society’s international conference on April 2, including being named one of the top 100 chapters worldwide.

The ranking marks the fourth consecutive year Alpha Theta Iota has earned the honor, further distinguishing it from a field of 1,200 chapters.

The following Alpha Theta Iota members also received international recognition, including: Donna Johnson, Pittsford, the Distinguished Chapter President Award; Ann Schwartz, Webster, the Distinguished Chapter Officer Award; and Cindy Easterly, Fairport, the George O. Bierkoe Distinguished Member Award.

The chapter was also selected as the top chapter in the state at the organization’s regional conference on March 7. Alpha Theta Iota has won every award it has competed for at the regional and international levels this academic year.
