MCC Baja Team Competes in SAE Regionals

Our very own MCC Baja team competed in the Society of Automobile Engineers' (SAE) Midwest Regional competition that was hosted locally by Rochester Institute of Technology. Static events (inspection, design, etc.) were held on campus on June 7, and the dynamic race events were held at Hogback Hill Motocross track in Palmyra June 8 and 9.

The MCC team raced to 56th place overall finishing ahead of Buffalo State, Michigan State, and Itasca Community College (Grand Rapids, Michigan), but trailed RIT (3rd), Cornell (14th ), and Clarkson (42nd). The team had high hopes coming into the event after correcting the mechanical issues that plagued the team in a previous Tennessee race, but very muddy conditions combined with new challenges cost us in the standings.

Many thanks to the college community, and especially the staff and faculty of MCC’s Applied Technologies Center, Engineering Science and Physics, and the division of Science, Health, and Business for supporting us. Extra special thanks to the greater Rochester Industrial community for their support, including:
