MCC Represented at the NSBE Conference

Two CSTEP students, Fred Johnson and Katelea Williams (President and Vice President of the NSBE club), attended the 35th Annual National Convention of the National Society of Black Engineers. The theme of the convention was “Energizing Creativity to Achieve Exponential Growth”. We can attest that these students returned to campus energized and encouraged to continue maximizing their potential.  Among the many workshops and networking events, Fred, Katelea and I were able to attend the HUGE College and Career Fairs; and as a result, we met potential partners that can increase the networking potential for the NSBE club and CSTEP.  The 2010 annual convention will be held in Toronto ON, Canada from March 31- April 4, 2010.  More information is available via the MCC NSBE club.

The mission of the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) is to increase the number of culturally responsible Engineers who excel academically, succeed professionally and positively impact the community. The National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) with more than 30,000 members, is one of the largest student-managed organization in the country. NSBE is comprised of more than 233 chapters on college and university campuses, 65 Alumni Extension chapters nationwide and 89 Pre-College chapters. These chapters are geographically divided into six regions.
