Rochester AmeriCorps is recruiting for the 2022-23 program year

Do you work with any students who have recently graduated and are looking to gain experiences in the community before pursuing their bachelor’s degree? Do you know any students who are not able to return to MCC this fall due to financial or other life circumstances? Rochester AmeriCorps could be a great fit! Rochester AmeriCorps is seeking applications from qualified individuals who can commit to serving full-time for 48 weeks, Sept. – Aug., in our education-focused program. Members will be placed in pre-collegiate programs, community agencies and nonprofits, and schools to support improved academic outcomes and preparation for higher education for local youth. Our program places an emphasis on member training and development; supporting the members with a pre-service orientation prior to starting at their host sites, along with monthly member development days and special events and activities throughout the year to deepen members’ connection to and understanding of our community. Benefits of service with us include:

  • Bi-weekly living allowance stipend of approximately $687 (estimated, pre-tax)
  • Segal AmeriCorps Education Award of approximately $6,345 upon completion of the program (1700 hours)
  • National Service forbearance on qualified student loans
  • Individual health insurance
  • Child care subsidy (if eligible) for dependents 12 and under
  • Living allowance not taken into consideration when determining SNAP eligibility
  • Specialized training, professional development, and networking opportunities

Please feel free to reach out with any questions or refer folks you think would be interested in serving in the program via phone: 585-685-6010 or email Rochester Americorps (rochesteramericorps@monroecc.edu).
