MCC’s 41st Annual Jazz Festival, which will be held at 7:30 p.m., Wednesday, April 28 in the Brighton Campus Theatre, features The Wee Trio.
The Trio, which consists of musicians James Westfall, vibraphone; Daniel Loomis, bass; and Jared Schonig, drums, released their second CD, “Capitol Diner, Vol.2, Animal Style,” last month. They had originally joined forces for a one-time tour. However, that tour quickly mushroomed into a brilliant collaborative musical exploration.
Their sound?
“An ingenious combination of jazz, rock, fusion, post-punk with references to other genres as well -- and their skillful rapport makes it swing.”
