Bess Watts, principal library cClerk, was elected in September at the national convention in Cleveland, OH, to serve as Vice-President of Organizing for Pride at Work. Pride at Work, a constituency group of AFL-CIO, works to foster "mutual support between the organized labor movement and the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) community for social and economic justice." Bess is president of its local chapter as well as of CSEA Local 828 Monroe County.
