New Campus Events Rubric

Due to the COVID-19 virus, MCC's Campus Events office has established the following rubric for scheduling internal events for the Brighton Campus, Downtown Campus and Applied Technologies Center. March vents that have been canceled are also noted at the end of this article.

Guidance on Events:
All in-person, non-essential events and programs should be postponed until further notice. This includes internal events; external events were already canceled.

If you must meet, look to utilize virtual/remote resources until further notice. If assistance is needed, please contact the TECH hotline (585-292-2828 or x8324).

If you request facilities for an in-person meeting, then approval may be granted if you are able to provide specific justification for the use of a college facility my completing and submitting a Campus Events application at the following link: https://www.monroecc.edu/depts/campusevents/reservations/

If approved, you must adhere to the CDC recommended social distancing*, please note that the authorized locations available for usage until further notice are the following:

Brighton Campus

  • Meeting rooms: 3-115, 3-116, 3-117, 3-118
  • Warshof Conference Center, R. Thomas Flynn Campus Center (Monroe A)

Downtown Campus

  • 4th floor Boardroom, room 400
  • High Falls A and/or B

Applied Technologies Center (ATC)

  • Meeting room: ATC -156

Are you able to utilize "virtual" resources to accommodate the request? If no, then approval may be granted if you are able to provide specific justification for the use of a college facility.

Be advised, the procedures listed below are strongly encouraged to be followed by all faculty and staff who require a one-on-one or group meeting:

  • Social distancing: Avoid coming within 3-6 feet of people.
  • The location of your meeting should be large enough so social distancing can be practiced within the venue/space.
  • Practice preventative measures to avoid the spread of germs:
  • Frequently and thoroughly wash your hands especially before and after eating; after sneezing, coughing, or nose blowing; after using the restroom; before handling food; after touching or cleaning surfaces that may be contaminated; after using shared equipment and supplies like electronic equipment such as keyboard, mice, and phones.
  • Cover coughs and sneezes with tissues or the corner of your elbow.
  • Dispose of soiled tissues immediately after use.
  • If you are sick, self-isolate so you do not spread germs.
  • Reduce the number of gatherings and reduce the number of people at gatherings and meetings whenever possible.

*The CDC defines social distancing as "remaining out of congregate settings, avoiding mass gatherings, and maintaining distance (approximately 6 feet) from others when possible."
