Update to Math Advising Charts

As the current chair of the Math Department’s ad hoc committee which developed the ADV 121 workshop and the revised math advising charts, I want to follow up my October 11th Daily Tribune article about the charts. Last week, the Math Department decided that a grade of C or better in TRS 094 (Pre Algebra) can be a prerequisite for MTH 080 (Preparation for Statistics). MTH 080 is an experimental course being offered this semester for the first time for students who place at Level 4, 5, or 6 and whose terminal math requirement is MTH 160. The change in the prerequisite was endorsed by the TRS Department and approved by the Curriculum Office. A line has been added to connect TRS 094 and MTH 080 in the flowchart of math courses.

The attachment to this article contains the updated flowchart and the chart of degree requirements together in one file instead of two separate files. Also, the flowchart now has numbers in parentheses after each course title to indicate the number of credit hours.

I apologize for any confusion and hope that the new charts will be useful advising tools. Please let me know if you have any questions or comments.
