MCC is saddened to learn of the passing of retiree Emily M. Youngblood of our Building Services Department on February 11, 2022. Ms. Youngblood was 92 years young. A memorial service was held on Saturday, March 19.

She joined MCC as a light laborer in 1976. She was promoted to a heavy laborer position in 1980, lab foreman II in 1981 and foreman in 1985, Her dedication and leadership was valued and appreciated. She and the Building Services crew that she led were often assisted with special events set up that required strong attention to detail and high levels of teamwork and coordination. She received many thank-you letters for her work and, in 1990, she received MCC's Support Staff Award for her creativity, energy and service.

MS. Youngblood retired in 1993 as a senior labor foreman. MCC is grateful for her 17 years of excellent service that ensured the College and our students were seen and celebrated in their best light.
