MCC's 2nd Annual Scholars' Day to Feature Subjects of Intrigue for Students, Faculty


What do Little Red Riding Hood, Marilyn Monroe and Oprah have in common?

Find out when students from Elizabeth Johnston’s Honors Seminar HMN295 share their individual responses to famous women in mythology, fairy tales, biblical history, contemporary fiction and commercial culture on Saturday, April 3rd during MCC’s 2nd Annual Scholars’ Day.

This year's Scholars’ Day features a keynote address by renowned scientist Jared Diamond, a professor of geography at UCLA and Pulitzer-prize winning author, at 10 a.m. in the Brighton Campus Theatre located in Bldg. 4.

In addition to Diamond’s keynote address, MCC’s Scholars’ Day features a wide variety of sessions geared to promote scholarship across disciplines. These include: The Geography of Wine Country, Behavior and Distribution of Blue-Striped Grunts, The Contemporary African-American Experience, and the Engineering and Design of the Autonomous Robot.
