Commencement 2021

MCC will honor our more than 1,800 graduates with a virtual Commencement ceremony on Thursday, May 20th, at 7:00 p.m. A link to the ceremony will be sent to the extended college community and posted on www.monroecc.edu prior to the event.

Professor of Nursing Janice Volland, RN will serve as the 2021 Faculty Marshal. Provost and Vice President of Academic Services Dr. Andrea Wade will preside over the ceremony. Student leaders Isabella DeRubeis and Denise Vogel will lead The Pledge of Allegiance. Student vocalist Anisha Stallworth will sing the National Anthem.

Featured speakers include incoming MCC President Dr. DeAnna R. Burt-Nanna, Acting Vice President of Student Services Dr. Kimberly McKinsey-Mabry '95 who will deliver the "Message to the Graduates," and our inaugural student speaker, Soleil Williams. MCC Board of Trustees Chairman Allen K. Williams along with federal, state, and local officials will deliver congratulatory greetings to the graduates.

This virtual event will be personalized for the graduates, as each student has been sent a link to submit a photo or video commemorating their wonderful achievement. Separate "virtual walks across the stage" will be organized based on the seven Schools@MCC. The ceremony promises to be engaging and celebratory.

Prior to the virtual Commencement, eligible graduates will receive honor cords on April 30th. Interested graduates may also pick up their cap, gown, and tassel at the MCC Bookstore.

The Commencement committee looks forward to honoring our graduates on May 20th.
