New Phishing Scam Emails

Bank of America Notification

A new phishing scam targeting Bank of America Customers has surfaced. The phishing email takes the typical approach, warning that the account will be deactivated if action isn't taken immediately. Predictably, the 'required' action is to login via the link provided in the email, which of course leads to a nefarious website (which has nothing to do with the real bank). Any information entered on that website will be captured and sent to the criminals behind the phishing attack.

If you have received the “Bank of America Notification” email or some variation of this email, just delete the email.  ETS is looking for ways to block these emails before they are delivered to your inbox.  Also, please remember that it is very common for these email scams to be redistributed at a later date with only slightly different content, such as a different subject or return address, or with the fake webpage(s) hosted on a different webserver.

Don't get hooked by phishing scams. Use the links below to learn how to recognize and report phishing scams.
