Ever wondered what it would be like to serve in the Peace Corps? If so, you’ll want to hear two MCC professors, David Day (Kenya and India) and Rich Della Costa (India and Guatemala), describe their Peace Corps experiences on Friday, April 30, during College Hour (12:00 noon-12:50 PM) in room 12-225.
This presentation is one in a series of MCC International Week workshops to be held during College Hour on Monday, April 26, on the second floor of Building 12 and in the Career Center Library (3-108), and on Friday, April 30, on the second floor of Building 12.
The Peace Corps is a U.S. federal agency which traces its roots and mission to 1961, when then-Senator John F. Kennedy challenged students at the University of Michigan to serve their country in the cause of peace by living and working in developing countries. Since then, more than 170,000 Peace Corps volunteers have served in 136 host countries in such areas as information technology, business development, HIV/AIDS awareness, education, and bringing clean water to developing communities.
